You can use the Boat Loader Hitch Frame with Rhino-Rack’s 2-inch receiver hitch to minimise dents or scratches to your vehicle’s bumper bars when loading or unloading your tinny.

It’s built from rugged material to help it withstand even the harshest conditions in the book and comes with a convenient travel bag to tuck it away in when you’re back home.

Rhino-Rack Rear Boat Loader Winch Handle

We also supply winch handles which have been uniquely designed for use with Rhino-Rack’s rear boat loaders.

Rhino-Rack Side Boat Loader

The Rhino-Rack side boat loader lets you load your tinny onto the roof of your vehicle without having to struggle with lifting it over your head.

With its innovative design, you can load and unload your boat alone using only an 18V battery-powered cordless drill. All you need to do is winch the boat up from the vehicle’s passenger side and slide it onto the roof.

That is what makes the Rhino-Rack Side Boat Loader perfect for fishermen travelling alone, retirees and anyone with a caravan or trailer. Because it does all the work for you, you won’t risk straining your back trying to load or unload your tinny.

This rooftop loader is compatible with a wide range of vehicles, including 4WDs, low-roof camper vans and station wagons. If you’re unsure if your vehicle is suitable, please check with us before buying. We can assist with fitting it to your vehicle, please get in touch with the Roof Racks NZ team.

Please note that these loaders are not recommended for roof racks that use ‘pads and clamp’ setups.

Why use a rooftop boat loader?

No fishing trip in the great outdoors can be truly complete without a boat or tinny. After all, some of the most beautiful and unique spotsrequire you to get out onto the water. You’ll be able to enjoy incredible views unlike what you get to see from the shore.

There are few better ways to enjoy a beautiful summer’s day than sightseeing, fishing, or simply relaxing on the waves.
But loading and unloading a boat from your vehicle’s roof can be challenging, even dangerous, especially if you’re travelling alone, have previous injuries or are older.

This is where a rooftop boat loader can be of significant help. These incredible devices offer the following advantages:

1. All the safety you need

Ever lifted something heavy and felt your back twinge? Don’t worry – you’re not alone. If you’re worried about raising a boat above your head, especially if you’re alone, you need a boat loader.

It takes care of the heavy lifting for you, making your trip a more leisurely experience and also ensuring you’ll stay safe while loading and unloading your vessel.

2. Better security on the road

When the boat’s all loaded and you’re roaring down the motorway to a beautiful campsite, you might find yourself worried about how safe your tinny is sitting on your roof. What if you hit a pothole or need to come to a sudden stop?

You want to be sure that that boat’s secure up there – imagine how catastrophic the consequences could be otherwise. Rooftop boat loaders will help you position your tinny in such a way that ensures it’s effectively secured.
That way, you can drive in complete peace of mind.

3. More efficient unloading

A rooftop boat loader will even help you get out on the water faster. Once you reach your campsite, it’s natural that you’ll want to hop in the water ASAP. Well, that’s where one of these loaders can come in handy.

Instead of preparing yourself for a challenging, physically demanding, time-consuming struggle, just use the loader to take your boat off smoothly. Plus, with your boat loaded on your car’s roof rack, you’ll still be able to tow a trailer – giving you everything you need for a great day out.

4. Boat loaders work almost anywhere

A rooftop boat loader make the whole process safe and easy – let the boat loader do the heavy work and you can focus on enjoying your time on the water.
